This medicine contains thyroid hormones as active ingredients.
This medicine contains the thyroid hormones levothyroxine and liothyronine as active ingredients. They have the same effect as hormones produced naturally.
You are given medicine to replenish missing thyroid hormones and/or reduce the burden on the thyroid gland.
The medicine is given.
to replenish (replace) the missing hormone in any form of hypothyroidism.
A combination of levothyroxine and liothyronine can be used for any type of thyroid hormone deficiency. The drug can be used for reduced or absent thyroid hormone production due to acquired or hereditary primary or secondary thyroid hormone deficiency, as well as for thyroid hormone deficiency caused by surgery, radiation or drugs.
