Special care is required when using DERMESTRIL-Septem: Talk to your doctor before starting treatment if you have ever had any of the following problems, as they may recur or worsen during treatment with DERMESTRIL-Septem. If this happens, you should see your doctor more often for check-ups:
  • Uterine fibrosis
  • Growth of uterine lining outside the uterus (endometriosis) or history of excessive growth of the uterine lining (endometrial hyperplasia)
  • increased risk of developing blood clots (see “Blood clots in a vein (thrombosis)”)
  • increased risk of developing estrogen-sensitive cancer (such as a mother, sister, or grandmother who had breast cancer)
  • high blood pressure
  • Liver disease, e.g. benign liver tumor
  • diabetes
  • Gallstones
  • Migraine or severe headache
  • Disease of the immune system that affects many organs of the body (systemic lupus erythematosus, SLE )
  • epilepsy
  • asthma
  • Disease that affects the eardrum and hearing (otosclerosis)
  • very high blood lipid levels (triglycerides)
  • Fluid accumulation due to heart and kidney problems
  • congenital or acquired angioedema.
