Ovastat® is an anticancer drug from the so-called alkylating group and contains the active substance treosulfan. Treosulfan inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
Ovastat® used for palliative (relief, but not curative) treatment of advanced ovarian cancer after standard platinum-containing therapy has failed.

What Ovastat contains
– Active ingredient: Treosulfan
– Other ingredients: corn starch, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, gelatin.

Ovastat® you will be prescribed by a doctor experienced in treating cancer.
Ovastat® comes in the form of hard capsules, which should be taken whole with plenty of liquid.
Always take Ovastat® exactly as the doctor prescribed for you. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose is as follows:
400–600 mg treosulfan/m2 body surface area (= 12–18 mg treosulfan/kg body weight) daily, divided into 4 separate doses, for 28 days. A repeat is possible after a 28-day break in therapy.
The dose should be adjusted taking into account blood counts, i.e. HOUR. During therapy, the number of white blood cells and platelets (white blood cells and platelets) is carefully monitored. Depending on how your body responds to treatment, the dose may be increased or decreased.
If additional radiation therapy is used, the dose of treosulfan should be reduced.
< span>Your doctor will decide how long treatment will last.
Usually you will have to take Ovastat® until the swelling is completely gone.
Your doctor will make sure you get the right dose for your condition. If you overdose, your side effects may increase. Your doctor can treat these side effects symptomatically.
